Foundation

To have a great-looking skin, you should choose the perfect foundation. The right foundation should be perfectly matched to your skin texture and tone and not be heavy. Apply a foundation shade as close to your skin tone as possible. Always test foundation in natural light, never test on your hands.

Before applying foundation use a primer, it will make your face smooth and keep your makeup on for longer. Always use a moisturiser before applying foundation and give it a minute to absorb.

If your skin is normal or dry, look for a creamy liquid formula or a stick foundation.

If your skin is oil, look for an oil-free foundation.

Start with less foundation - it is easier to add a little more later than remove it. You do not need to use foundation all over your face, it is best to begin your application in the centre of your face, dotting on the cheeks and forehead and blend it. Blend very gently, especially around mouth, nose and corners of the eyes. Be sure that the face and the body have a balance tone.

The right tools help you apply foundation quickly and with great-looking results:

  • A makeup sponge - really helps with the blending process
  • A foundation brush - blends very well, you should always wash your sponge and brush after every application
  • Fingers

To see the true effect of the foundation wait a moment and then you can add more foundation or blend if it is needed.

Unfortunately most of the foundations described below cannot buy on a high street in Aberdeen but they are all available online. Contact me if you have any troubles with choosing right foundation.
