This week I had a pleasure to work with a fantastic photographer Ray Liversidge and beautiful model Morven Robb. The photo shoot took place 15 mil from Aberdeen.
This session was different from usual wedding/bridal routine. We wanted to create a very tasteful, elegant and sexy shoot using some lovely corsets and Venetian masks. I decided to keep model's skin fresh and natural. I wanted her to look simply beautiful in my makeup.
Powder is a makeup must. Powder will hold your concealer and foundation in place and works only when there is the right shade. The right powder should be invisible. To apply powder you can use a powder brush or powder puff. To have a great and perfect look it is very important to use a good quality of makeup tools.
Using a powder brush or powder puff will help your make up last longer and give your skin a smooth. Powder brush is great for blending but you must be careful not to over blend and brush off your makeup.A powder puff offers the best coverage. Press a puff or sponge into the powder and then press in the skin. Pressed powder is great for created a natural look.
To have a great-looking skin, you should choose the perfect foundation. The right foundation should be perfectly matched to your skin texture and tone and not be heavy. Apply a foundation shade as close to your skin tone as possible. Always test foundation in natural light, never test on your hands.
Before applying foundation use a primer, it will make your face smooth and keep your makeup on for longer. Always use a moisturiser before applying foundation and give it a minute to absorb.
If your skin is normal or dry, look for a creamy liquid formula or a stick foundation.
If your skin is oil, look for an oil-free foundation.
Start with less foundation – it is easier to add a little more later than remove it. You do not need to use foundation all over your face, it is best to begin your application in the centre of your face, dotting on the cheeks and forehead and blend it. Blend very gently, especially around mouth, nose and corners of the eyes. Be sure that the face and the body have a balance tone.
The application of concealer is the most important step in any makeup routine. Concealer is the product that can brighten and lift the face. Concealer should be smooth to the touch. A formula that is too dry is bad for the delicate skin around the eyes. You should choose a different texture of concealer depending of your skin condition. Concealer should be the same shade as your foundation or a shade lighter. For extremely dark circle choose a heavy formula concealer in shade that is lighter than your skin. The big mistake is using too light or too white shade. If you are using a concealer in the same colour like foundation you can use it before or after foundation.
Before applying concealer you should prepare the area under eyes by applying eye cream. You should remember about applying eye cream if your skin is very dry. If you have oil skin be careful with eye cream because your concealer can move around the eye area.
Apply (best option is using a concealer brush or your fingers) beginning at the inner corners of the eyes, close to the lashes, where there is darkness. Gently blend by pressing your fingers. Make sure there is enough to block the darkness.
